When i connect to any random server, the server loads and when i'm in my PC just shuts down after 5 sec or so. If i restart and connect again, even if its another server he doesn't shut down? So if i wan't to play ET, i have to start it ->PC shuts down ->restart PC ->start ET again I thought something was wrong with my graphic driver so i downloaded the recent one. And i reinstalled ET recently so... Grtz The Mamba

does your pc make any noises like a few beeps or so, and do you get an error message? maybe at rebooting or so?
If not, I really dont know what you have to do to solve this problem, my father had the problem that he connected to a server and after 5 sec his screen got stuck, didn't move any further... hard reset and after that it worked, ET is still a mystery
hope you find a solution soon

Listen Mamba, you know that your type of gameplay demands a lot from that pc of yours , so get a quadcore, nice cooling etc.. it happens to a lot of new members from us, when they start wearing their tags, their skills increase even more, therefor most somewhat older pc's start to fall apart slowly... Sorry m8 it's part of being in our clan Good luck.. ;D

I am sure you have a mainboard manual and at the end there is an instruction which tells you how many beeps means what.
If you dont have a mainboard manual look in google for it,

PS the beeps say many about where the error is located e.g. if the prozessor fan is defect and there is danger for overheat, or that the ram is damaged... or that the power supply has 2 less reccources...

I've had this problem many times over the years, try it with another game, if it also crashes (or freezes) then it's more then likely it's your PC overheating, either take the fan out and clean it, or get dual fans installed to stop the problem. That's what I did with my old PC, the 2 fans helped it, plus cleaning the PC out of dirt etc every so often will obviously help too.
If you try that and it doesn't fix it then it could be possibly a problem with your RAM, motherboard etc. as Acid says.
Hope you can sort it out.

It happend when playing ET, but i also had it when PKR online. You know, the poker game online. So i think because they are 3D games, there's something wrong with my video card. My PC doesn't crash at other progs, especially at ET. But that's the only "game" i play. Never had problems with it, only the last few months. Maybe somethings wrong with my Windows XP. I think i'm gonna reinstall everything, also XP and then see what happens. If it isn't fix i know something is wrong with my hardware. (it isn't my hardware, my bro's one) I don't have a PC Thx for the good comment.
