Hello [eXe] Members and Friends,
Many people have heard others talk about scrims and what a
challenge it is. There have also been questions about rules and
how they might differ than the way they are playing now. As
many of you that have played on different servers, you will have
noticed that no 2 servers are exactly the same. Maybe graphics,
sounds, hitboxes, etc. are just a bit different than your home
server. This is why it is always good to play other servers to
learn a new style or stragety.
The idea behind scrims is to see how a well oiled a team can be,
both offense and defense. To match team against team. To
have equal stregnth and let teamwork win all. Most scrim servers
have different setting than public servers. Here are some examples:
Medic Dies: No med pacs released or maybe on 1 or 2 : host setting
F.O. Dies: Same= no ammo or half limit : again host setting
Each new game... XP reset to 0
This makes for a different kind of playing and stragety.
What makes a scrim go bad is that teams don't play by the same rules. Alot of home host teams play one way and visiting team plays different on their server. The best way is to have common rules so that ALL play together to have fun.
The most common rules have been set forth by Clanbase. They
host more that 30 different games such as WOW, MoH, CoD, etc.
Almost all of these have clans and scrims. To keep everyone in
sinc, they made a universal rule format. These are great rules to
learn and play by. Use these rules in standard game play, and
watch for other to make infractions. You will now know what NOT
to do yourself. This will make you and your team better players.
Here is their site: www.clanbase.com/rules.php?lid=984
I reccommend that anyone intrested in scrims and rules, visit this
forum. You can get a good education and training.
Good Luck to all and happy gaming
