Alright, had a few people requesting help on how to make a config, or cfg, so I decided I'd post this, step-by-step tutorial on how to do it.
My config is posted in the general forum, if you want to take those settings and put it in yours, by all means go for it but remember not to be greedy, and remember that I took time to make them so don't go and steal them saying they are yours. (Trust me, this in no way will cause harm to your computer in case you wonder)
1. Open up My Computer (Windows Explorer)
2. Click on your main data drive that holds your program files (default is C:)
3. After opening C: click Program Files.
4. Scroll down to your W:ET folder, should be named "Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory" (So if you have everything correct, you should be at this address: C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory)
5. This is where all your ET-related files are stored, such as maps, settings, and mods. In this case, you will need to open up the folder etmain
6. You should have a file in here called etconfig.cfg, these are your active settings that you use whenever you play ET.
7. If you would like to open your settings to see what this is all about, open it, it should ask what program you would like to open it with, click notepad and check "Always use the selected program for this kind of file"
8. (I'm sure there are other ways than this, but this is what I do) right click on your etconfig.cfg, COPY it and paste it on your desktop or wherever you want to save it, just remember where it is.
9. When it is on your desktop, rename it to autoexec.cfg or just autoexec if the cfg part wasn't already there.
10. Copy (or cut if you don't want it to stay on your desktop) the autoexec on your desktop and place it in the etmain folder that was previously opened.
11. Now you should have an etconfig.cfg and an autoexec.cfg in your etmain folder, correct?
12. Open autoexec.cfg, delete *ALL* (clear the file) the settings that are currently there (or leave them if you know what your doing and want to look through them and edit what you want)
13. Now take the settings that were in my config, say the lines:
// Spin
set A_Spinon "weaponbank 6; cg_drawgun 1; wait 5; +attack; cl_yawspeed 2520; wait; +left; wait; wait; set A_Spin vstr A_Spinof; vstr brb"
set A_Spinof "wait; -attack; wait; weaponbank 3; cg_drawgun 1; wait; -left; wait; -left; wait; cl_yawspeed 140; set A_Spin vstr A_Spinon; vstr imback"
set A_Spin "vstr A_Spinon"
bind Z "vstr A_Spin" // when you press z it continually spins automatically
for pride.
That there, if you put it in your config, when you press z, as it says, it will spin, continuously. You can change the Z to, say, / and when you click / it will do it as well.
So, paste that script into your autoexec.cfg
14. Save the file. (save it in your etmain if you haven't already, it should be there but just in case you forgot where it needs to be)
15. Load the game, check if it works, it should automatically execute, and you should be able to spin on the stroke of a key. This goes for any other setting you put in there, when you open et it should automatically load your config. if you have your config that is not named autoexec.cfg, in the console (in-game) you would type /exec <name>.cfg
I hope this helped, if you have any questions feel free to pm me in game, or on the forums, or ask in this thread, I will try and help.
let's see your skills, old man poolqs if this doesn't help you, I'll help you individually, old men these days, gosh just kidding.
